Report Definition not creating SQL with UNION ALL when 'Report on descendant class instances' is checked

Hi All,

I'm using Pega Sales Automation v8.7. I have two instances, one in Pega Academy, and a local one, launched using application PegaSalesAutomationCosmos, so no bespoke rules are being called.

When I 'Follow' a Lead or an Opportunity in the Pega Academy instance, then return to the Home screen, I can see the followed item in Items I Follow.

When I do the same for the local instance, nothing appears in Items I Follow.

Tracing D_crmFavorites shows the SQL that is generated by Report Definition pyGetAllFollowedCases. The Academy instance shows a huge query containing many UNIONs.

The local instance shows a much smaller SQL with no UNIONs.

Why?
