Replace Outlook Basic Authentification on 7.3 version
Hello,
Microsoft will be removing their Basic Authentification for Outlook in October 2022.
Our project is still in version 7.3 so it is not compatible with OAuth 2.0 and we are planning to migrate to Pega 8 but only in 2023. So we are trying to find a solution to replace Basic Authentification on our apps.
Is any other project encountering this issue? If yes, have you found any solution apart from migrating to version 8?

OAuth 2.0/Microsoft Graph support is available as of Pega 8.4 and onward, currently available in general release. See Configuring an OAuth 2.0 authentication profile
There are no plans to backport this feature and I have not been able to find any solutions in our ticketing system for other users.

So from what I see there is no solution so all projects have migrated to version 8.4 as a solution to this issue?
Yes I have asked the same question in INC-224339. I am asking the question here hoping that other projects that are facing this issue might have found a solution and could share it.

@CélineB2 Hi Celine, can you clarify whether this is for Pega Platform or Sales Automation? I noticed you had some incidents in the past specific to the Outlook add-in also, and am now wondering if those were for Sales Automation?

Hi @martf,
It is for both Pega Platform and Sales Automation.
Indeed we have an application Sales B2C that is using Outlook integration and Pega has given us a hotfix in order to use OAuth 2.0.
But here, the issue concerns sending and receiving emails from Outlook for our Sales B2B app and our Customer Service app. They are both using basic authentification.

However it does look like the definitive answer is only the use of SMTP. Note that this change by Microsoft was announced over two years ago by Microsoft. "We evaluated multiple options - this is a new feature and as such will not be backported to older versions.
