Referencing Containing Objects
Context: Report Definition (or anywhere you enter parameters)
Scenario: I have a -Data object defined, which has a "child" or contained object set up as a page list. Such as, a customer has a list of addresses.
I've set up a Report listing the "child" data - addresses, in this example.
I'd like to set up a parameter on the "parent" object's id, such as Customer ID. This field is NOT on the"child" record, since the child Page List is completely contained in the parent.
How do I refer to the Parent object's properties in the report filter? I can refer to the contained object's properties for selection, but can't find a way to refer to the containing object as a way to filter this report. Such as, I'd like to be able to show all "Address" objects for a given Customer ID.
Any ideas? The data model is not something I'm at liberty to change (i.e. add the Customer ID to the "child" Address page List)
