Question/proble on Pega update from 7.1.8 to 7.2.0
SR-A95065 created, but they wanted to put this question in pega support community.
We are already in split schema and we are trying to update from 7.1.8. have following questions below.
1) What impact we will have on our Data schema as update would take place in rules schema as we are already in split schema? If there is update takes place in dataschema question which of the few tables in Data schema will have impact during the update process?
2)Do we have to bring down the Application server when we do pega update on data schema(DB) ?
3)Will the update takes place in both rules and data schema seperately
4) what verification steps we have to perform once the pega update is completed.What exactly we should verify

The answers to the following questions are specific for updates from 7.1.8 to 7.2
1)
To perform an out-of-place Update from 7.1.8 to 7.2, follow the "Upgrading the split schema system" process outlined in https://docs-previous.pega.com/pega-72-platform-upgrade-guide (page 59) but use the smaller Update distribution image. On page 72, the data schema update process is outlined, which is the step that will update the data schema DDL. To manually apply the DDL, or to review the DDL changes that will be applied, follow the process that is explained under "Generating and applying DDL" on page 32, and note the syntax example on page 33 for split schema systems.
2)
Depending on the database vendor, the data schema DDL changes may lock tables for a period of time in order to apply the schema changes, and therefore could potentially interfere with user activity.
3)
Yes, if the out-of-place Update process is followed. No, if the in-place Update process is followed.
4)
After successfully logging in, you'll want to verify that your application continues to work as expected.
