Queries on Openspan
Hi,
please help me on below queries in OpenSpan.
1.How to create a runtime bot for developed OpenSpan project instead of running it from OpenSpan studio, I want it to run separately (e.g, as an .exe files)?
2.How to define custom exceptions & use try catch & log runtime exceptions in OpenSpan?
3.How to work with or integrate PDF, Web services in OpenSpan?
4.For a grid view in webpage which has a pagination (PFA screenshot)I want OpenSpan automation to check each & every page of these grid view & select some records based on some criteria how to achieve this dynamically with looping?
5.what should be the trigger point or how can I mention the start execution point for OpenSpan solution to run automatically using runtime components.?

Please see my responses below:
1.)
You can host the Runtime installation files into a C# project. You would create an executable with the C# project and make reference to the Runtime install assembly files, adapters, and automations through your code. Below is a link that goes into further discussion of how to do this.
2.)
The try catch blocks allow you to try a portion of the automation and if an exception appears during the attempt the exception will handled. You can look for specific exceptions with the catch block by clicking the ellipse of the exception parameter of the catch block. Below is a link that discusses how to do so.

You can also write out the captured exception to the log through using the log writer component. Below is a link on how to do so.

3.) Currently Pega Robotics does not officially support the integration of PDF documentation. There is support for using web services. You would do so through the use of the service client component. Below is a link that goes into how to use the service client component.

4.) The illustration you have provided looks to be an html table. You will need to interrogate the grid as an html table and iterate through the table through the use of the html table's index or cloning of the items within the table.

5.) If you are looking for an automation to start at the beginning of the solution run automatically, it is best to use the Runtime.AllProjectStarted Event. This event is thrown when all of the projects within your solution has compiled and started.

I would be remiss if I failed to correct a failed assumption that was made on my behalf for query # 3.
It has come to knowledge that there is support for PDF documents for Pega versions 8.0.1030.0 and higher. There is a PDF connector found within this version that allows textual and image retrieval of PDF documents.
If your automations require this functionality, please upgrade to the 8.0.1030.0 build of Pega Robotics.
