Product builder for Insurance (PBI) - importing products & bundles
What is best practice for importing new products & bundles which we have configured from one environment to another. As such all the rule instances (Rule-InsProd-) will be package in the data ruleset as defined under the PBI setting. But these rule instances also generate many instances of PegaInsProd-Index-<> classes from the declare indexes. There is lack of documentation around packaging and deploying these new components. Do we need to manually insert these indexed records into the target environment ? Can this be automated so that whenever we deploy the rule instances all the associated indexes are also copied into the respective table.

Yes this can be automated, however you need to define a product (Rule-Admin-Product) rule including the ruleset version and the index classes that you want to be packaged. This has not been documented as part of our application as this is not widely different from how you do in any pega application.

While I agree that we can use Rule-Admin-Product to create and deploy products the implementation guide has no reference of the Index- classes. Since these are Pega out of the box classes I feel it should be clearly documented.
