Preview document from external repository

Hello dear community,

we have the requirement to offer the preview of an uploaded document stored in an external repository. We are using Pega 8.5. The section where the attachments are display and where the preview should be triggered is "pyCaseRelatedAttachmentItem" from the Link-Attachment class. 

By looking into the activity "GetAttachmentReference" step 5 I understand that for files in external repositories only the download is available.

My question would be, can we fulfill the requirement using any workaround? If so, could anybody help me instruct us on the setps?
