Pega Web Mashup Vs Mashup SDK Native application

As customer wants to move to Pega Native mobile applications. at present we are using Web Mashups.

the current version is Pega7.3.1.

1. If we want to go for Pega Native mobile applicate do we need to upgrade the environment first to Pega8.x?

2.I think DX API Starter Kit for Pega Mobile SDK (iOS) is available from Pega8.3? 

3.The Pega application is Embedded in third party application and using with Pega Web Mashups now, so we are planning to do a POC on Pega Native mobile application on pega8 with DX API's,  Do we have any standard procedure for the same?

4. checked the basic points on https://docs-previous.pega.com/introduction-mashup-sdk, if any possible or useful information further please share with us.
