Pega Licensing - how do I allocate licenses for personnel who have left to a replavement?
What is the proper way to reallocate a runtime license for a user?
Do I simply mark the user inactive? (For example, if I have 100 licenses, can I have 120 users listed and have 100 of them checked as Active? )
Do I replace the user information with the information for a user with the information for the new user?
Where do I find the documentation on maintaining users and licenses?
Thank you,

Hi,
Currently how you are maintaining user licenses in pega application ?, As per my understanding you have to replace the user information with the information for the new user.

That does not make sense to me. on Page 19 of the Using Pega Robotics Desktop management Console document, it states: "For reporting purposes you cannot delete users, you can only deactivate a user. To handle users who leave your organization permanently, create a department called, for instance,Sacked, and drag and drop those users into that department."

If Deployment Portal were to actually delete users, this could distort the information you see on reports. Instead, you simply deactivate the user and set up a department for deactivated users. Then move the deactivated users into the department you created. The name you assign to the department can be anything you choose.

That is what I gathered from my reading, So when a user is marked as inactive, the license is freed up to be used for another user?

Deactivating or activating a user in Deployment Portal does not affect licensing. Your account executive should be able to provide further clarification on this.

Hi Michael,
I guess you are referring to licenses in Pega Robotics; correct me if otherwise.
Taking a hint from this thread related to licensing where Thomz on November 22, 2016 has recommended the user to contact their Account Executive who are best suited to address those questions.
It looks like the scenario holds good for this query as well. So I would suggest you to contact your Account Executive who could pitch in with inputs on the license related queries.
Thanks!

Concerning Pega Robotic Automation, licenses are assigned to a company, not an individual, so this would not be an issue. Contact your Account Executive for more information on licensing issues.

I did last week and I have not received a response.
