Pega Activity to select data and send an email
Hello,
We have a requirement to send an email to certain set of users whenever there is an anomaly found in case information at periodic intervals.
Could you please help me on how we can implement this requirement?
At a high level, I thought of using Agent/Job Scheduler to run an activity which should execute a sql query and send email.
I dont know if we can run a sql query using activity.

Leverage Job Schedule and report definition to implement your requirement. If Report definition is not an option based on your SQL, then invoke Connect-SQL to trigger your query.

Yes you can run SQL using an activity, use the Connect-SQL method. But SQL should be the secondary option, the primary oprion should be retrieving values from a report definition sourced from a data page.

@AnupS724 For this requirement job scheduler is the best option to go with since its interval is also periodic and with this for the query you can use activity utilize the connect-sql method.

Thanks for the reply. I was able to use connect-sql to extract the data using sql, then converted it to csv using pxConvertResultsToCSV but I'm not able to pass the csv results as attachment to SendEmailNotification method.

Please try this
1. Use java code first i mean , Encoding this file content to base64 using java codes
2.A new page creation will help like attachmentexcel or excelattachment of type Embed-EMAIL ATTACHMENT
3. Set pyName with some file name, pyDecode to true and pyData to Base 64 string for ExcelAttachment page.
4. Do a Page-Copy from ExcelAttachment to AttachmentPage.pyAttachments(<APPEND>). Now you can send this AttachmentPage as param to SendEmailNotifcation.
