Parse Excel file using a File listener
Is there any OOTB feature of parsing an excel file (not a csv) using a file listener? Or, is the only option to read the whole file at a time, map to a clipboard property and then try to parse it?

Thanks. It worked by reading the whole file and then use MSOParseExcelFile. We needed to modify the Java step in MSPParseExcelFile to use java.io.File instead of PRFile as we were dealing with absolute paths.

Implement a File Listener for excel files as below :-
The Data Mode should be "Text Only" with character encoding "Default". Also make sure the Processing method is "record at a time". Also the service file processes 1 record at a time so make sure you discard the header row (if any).
To discard the header row, you can specify 2 parse segments in the Request tab of the Service File rule and make sure the "Once?" checkbox is selected for the first one.

I do understand that. However, what is the separator for the records in an excel file? How do we parse the individual records if we do not have a delimiter.
Have you implemented a similar thing for excel files (not csv)?

Hi,
Call OOTB internal activity named MSOParseExcelFile. This activity takes two mandatory properties, first is the location and name of the uploaded excel file, second is the name of the template file. With this MSOParseExcelFile would map the contents of the excel file in to appropriate clip board structures.
