Not able to see raw response json as part of connect rest integration
Hi,
When we integrate with an external system via connect rest, in tracer i am able to see raw request json as part of paramters (pyRequestHeaders,pyRequestData) in pyInvokeRESTConnector activity. however i am not able to see response json in any of the parameters or local variables. Currently we are in pega 8.8 version. can anyone please suggest how to get raw json as part of any property or local variable during a connect rest interaction in tracer.

Hello,
It depends on the configuration inside the Connect-REST rule (Methods > Response). You can map the response to a clipboard property (see attached screeshot)

@DorianeLovesPega my requirement is to view the raw request and response json . while tracing i could only see the raw request but not the raw response. i believe its moved to the engine code. would be of great help if there can be a way to see the raw response in tracer. ( not the parsed json in servicepage)

@ElvisM16800643 from admin studio enable REST logs, system print request and response in logs.

@JohnPaulRaja,C Thanks John for the suggestion, only issue is we cannot log raw json in logs as it has personal data.
as per our organization we cannot log pii data in logs.

@ElvisM16800643there is a hack if you are facing this problem, do one thing map temporarily the response to pydescription or any other property in pega rest method instead of JSON. and check that that way the raw response will be tagged to it. Hope this helps better. Let me know if it solves your issue

@Soham_Chanda1107 thanks Soham. we have 100's of existing connect rules it would be tough to change all the rules. i am actually looking for some kind of custom java code in pyrestinvokeconnector activity where we can get the raw response json

you can use @(Pega-RULES:Page).pxConvertPageToString(tools, myStepPage, "json") function and pass the response page for entire response page structure.
