Migrate External file to Pega DB in Pega 7.2.2

Hi Team, i have requirement that system should able to download the external file to pega DB.

File can be word,xlsx,txt , client needs to migrate the attachments saved for the cases to new system.

Please assist.

I was able to achieve the above functionality by following below steps:

1: Create a data type "DATA", which inherits from Data-WorkAttach-File

2: Create a data Type "Profile", which will be referred in place of work class.

3: Create an activity in Profile Class, parse attachment file using Java and do property set to the DATA class Page

4: Call Link Object in Activity with link-Attachment class and DATA  (as mentioned in the image attached)

this will emulate Work - Link - Data  architecture, for display of attachment please change DIsplay HTML to take your "DATA" class and openAttachment

Hi,

Please share the information where the files are there, these are in other database or in directory. How these files are associated with cases in existing application.

HI Yapas,

As part of data migration from mainframe these data will come to Pega server.

Existind data has path of the file, as part of migration i need to include file in Pega table for future reference.

there no case or work object involved, this pega table will only be used as reference for the old cases and the respective data.

Please let me know if anything else is required

HI Abhishek,

We have a similar requirement of migrating attachments.

we placed the entire folder in pega server & trying to attach the files to cases.

 

Can you share the entire activity including how to parse in java.
