Log files are not generating after externalizing the prlog4j2 (Pega version 871)

We have recently performed the version upgrade to v871 and migrated our test environments to Azure managed Cloud instance. In the process of upgrade, we externalized prconfig.xml and prlog4j2 files from Tomcat prweb/WEB-INF/classes folder. We observed that, the log files are not generating after externalizing the prlog4j2 file. Below is JAVA_OPTS variable set for externalizing prlog4j2 file. Can anyone please confirm the correct variable, if this not a right configuration to externalize prlog4j2 file (compatible with v871). App server is Tomcat 9 and Java version 11.

-Dpegarules.logging.configuration=<path>/prlog4j2.xml
