"Invalid Project File: missing Project Type" Error when deploying a project locally on Pega Runtime
Hi,
We are trying to run an automation project on a windows 10 machine which has Pega Runtime installed. When we try to run the project locally by selecting the openspan file we get "Invalid Project File: missing Project Type" Error. The solution runs fine from pega studio. This is only happening when trying to run it on runtime machine.
Our runtime version is 19.1.30 and studio version is : 14.0.25429
Any suggestions/pointers in resolving this issue will be highly appreciated. Thanks

Generally we recommend to use same version of Runtime as Studio where the solution was built. In your case it seems to be there is some differences between Studio and Runtime versions. Can you please clarify this?
Also, I did not understand the Studio version specified in description:
Our runtime version is 19.1.30 and studio version is : 14.0.25429

Hi,
Another reason for this issue might be Openspan file is not correctly fed to run time.
Try to run by creating a simple bat file.
cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\OpenSpan\OpenSpan Studio for Microsoft Visual Studio 2015"
start OpenSpan.Runtime.exe Project="Location of .OpenSpan file"
