How to use OCR feature to read text from image in web app interogation.
Hi Team,
I need to read text from image in my web adapter automation.I know there is OCR feature available but am unable to find/or use that method.I am using Pega Robotic Studio 8.0.1080.0 plugged in version in VS 2015.Now my concern is
- Is OCR feature available for Pega Robotic Studio 8.0.1080.0 version?If yes then how we can locate or use that in our app?
- Do we need to install any plugin for using OCR feature in our app?
- Any other method or Library available to achieve same thing ?

- That version is over a year and a half old. I would suggest upgrading to a current version for the best support. You can view the page below to see what features have come out and when.
- Yes, you must install OCR Essentials.
- You can try looking at the screen OCR methods (GetValueByOCR) to see if that works with the image. You might need to save the image and use the Document OCR component. This can be tricky from a web page and it would likely require some hands-on support to assist you.

Thanks. I had already tried to use Document OCR component but its not available in automation.Can you help me how I can find this one?
How to install OCR essentials , please provide reference link or steps?

You can download it the same way you download Runtime or Studio.

The component is added once you install OCR Essentials. I would suggest you upgrade to a later Studio/Runtime version though as even the earliest version available was released after 1080 and may not work correctly with your version.
