How to retrieve data from external database for a particular input given a user using data class mapping tool

Hi,

I have done the following :

  • established a connection with external database
  • mapped the table to the data class in pega using data class mapping wizard.

I am struck in a problem to retrieve data from the external database based on the user input value and how to configure it.

Is there any other way instead of activity?(beacuse in pega best practice activity is not recommended the most)

You can use a Report Definition rule to retrieve data from the external database. Create the Report Definition rule in the data class that you have created to map to the table.
