How to pass parameters to report definition which are set dynamically in Pega 7.3.1
Hi,
We have a requirement in pega 7.3.1 to show report definition on click of a link in a Section rule. Parameters are to be set dynamically based on current quarter and current year.
Tried the following approaches:
1. Set the values of current quarter and current year in an activity. On click of the link, in actionset call activity to set parameters and 2nd action is call report definition by passing params.
2. Set the values of current quarter and current year in an activity and call pxshowreport to display the report. But if I run the activity standalone it is working but on click of the link the report definition is not getting launched.
Please suggest how to achieve my requirement.

Hi,
Just to get clarification, are you passing what is current quarter and year like Q2 and 2020 as parameter? or passing some other parameter and the value is set based on current quarter and year?

I'm passing the current quarter and current year from the activity to the report definition.
I'm calculating the current quarter and current year in mu activity and then launching Open Report Definition and passing those parameters values o the activity. But when I checked in the tracer those parameters are not getting passed.

Hi,
You can try below approach. We had used below approach for a different challenge we were facing.
1. Create a Page type Data Page D_FilterInput. Source this using Activity/Data Transform.
2. In the activity/data transform you can set values for quarter and year in Data Page as D_FilterInput.Year. You have to create two properties if you already not having.
3. In the Report Definition use Data Page for filter for example D_FilterInput.Year for filter logic instead of Param.
4. For real time testing you can pass date or time and confirm it is changing.
