In Pega 7 (and possibly earlier) we have the ability to view an inventory of hotfixes, and compare that to what is installed on our systems. Surely some of these hotfixes would benefit all customers, while others are very specific to particular use cases. How does anyone know which hotfixes are 'must-haves' and which are 'nice-to-haves' and which should not be taken at all?

The 7.1 Maintenance Level (ML) is the primary release vehicle for distribution of product fixes and improvements, but we also provide hotfixes for issues impacting production systems as well as 7.1 ML regressions resulting from updates from a prior ML. In addition, we hotfix critical issues based on other technical and business factors but those are considered on a case-by-case basis. We do not publish a "Recommended Hotfix List" because what's recommended for one customer is ofter unnecessary for another, depending on the application architecture, design, application stack, implementation, etc., instead we ask customers to install the latest 7.1 ML to stay current and improve all operational aspects of the Pega 7.1 platform, not pick and choose random hotfixes and remain parked on an old ML.
