How to download a Rule-File-Text file using a link in a section
Hi
I have a requirement to download a rule-file-text file when i click on a link.

Hi Mate
For this requirement I think you can leverage OOTB activity "downloadFile" belongs to Rule-File-Text, you have to provide the required parameters, call this activity on your link(OnClick) event.

I have already tried using downloadFile activity. The issue i'm facing is when i execute the activity directly its downloading the file.. But when i use the same activity in the on click run activity action section of a link it doesn't work.

Hi,
What is the behavior you are seeing when you applying on a link, can you trace and check whether the activity rule is failing, may be there could be any parameter which is not getting passed that's why you are facing this issue.

I have in fact traced the activity.. Its running fine when i click the button :( Just that the file is not getting downloaded.
I have a button on which i'm calling an activity which call downloadFile activity from Rule-Obj-File. When i run the activity manually it downloads the necessary file. However, on click of a button its not working.

where are you configuring the button? Also can you try it with some other control other than button for the test purpose, I could see one more discussion where one approach is given to download the file, though it is related to multiple file download, but worth checking:
