How Basic Authentication of REST used in REST API

Trying to understand how Pega 8 access the authentication profile when invoke REST in Pega 8.

The following activity pyInvokeRESTConnector in Pega 7 do the same, trying to understand how this happening in Pega 8. Attached the Pega 7 java.
