How to avoid Windows Ad-On User Account Control (UAC) security prompt in CPM end user portal
Currently in our CPM on PRPC 6.1 SP2 based Application end users get this Windows Ad-On installer User Account Control (UAC) security prompt every time end user logs in to the portal. Since users do not have admin credentials to pass the challenge, they are currently trained to hit "No" to UAC prompt. However this is annoying for this user and they have to do this everytime they login. As per the group security policy at our client location they restrict any Ad-On or Activex to be installed by default. Also OCXinstaller is ruled out due to security policy.
We woud like to understand how this prompt can be avoided in code and which feature uses this Active X in End user portal. We go to know it's the ScreenPop ActiveX control. It automatically delivers events to the user's desktop. We are not using CTI integration in our application. If anyone has managed to avoid this please share your ideas. We understand by upgrading to Pega 7 we can get rid of the ActiveX. However upgrade is not happening anytime soon.
