GKE deployment does not start since update of Cloud SQL from Postgres 12.11 to 12.12

We have a client managed cloud deployment of a Pega cluster on GKE. For the database we are using the Saas solution of Cloud SQL with Postgres 12.

Yesterday the version of the database was automatically updated from 12.11 to 12.12. Today after shutting down the cluster, the pods in the cluster were not able to start, and they keep restarting… 

The only meaningful things written in the logs is that there is a SEVERE “Error initializing PRAppLoader”.

Can anyone help us?
