File Content Type Detection in PEGA
Hi All,
Once the file has been uploaded , I want to detect the file type(like csv,exe etc) based on the content of the file (not based on the extension of the file).
Is there any PEGA OOTB features available to detect the content type of the file uploaded or is there any other way of implementing this in java and using that in our PEGA activity?

You can use Java APIs to find the same. Below is the sample code that you can use in java step to achieve your requirement.

InputStream is = new BufferedInputStream(new FileInputStream(file));
System.out.println(URLConnection.guessContentTypeFromStream(is));

Hi,
Thank you for the suggestion.I have tried to use the above mentioned code.
But I am getting the output(content type) as null always. Is there any other prerequisites for using this function ?
kindly help.
