Facebook Data Set
We are trying to fetch data from Facebook using a Facebook Data Set. Below are the steps I followed to achieve this use case. However, the dataset is not returning any results.
- Created a Facebook App -> Put the App ID and Secret in the Facebook DataSet rule
- Created a Facebook Page with category as “App Page”. Posted a message in the Page
- In the App tools “Graph API Explorer” get the Access token for the Page created in previous step-> Put the Access token in the Facebook DataSet rule. Facebook URL is populated Automatically
Run the DataSet. No result is fetched. In the logs, no exception is thrown.
Can someone please help on this.

I did follow all the steps listed in that link. The facebook App which I am using is not public yet. It's still in development status. Could that be the Issue? Do I need to get the App authorized before trying to fetch messages from a Data Set ?

Hi. We had to stop this use case in between because it was not satisfying our requirement of pulling public data from facebook. However, our conclusion is that once the app is authorized and public, the dataset would work. Thanks.

Thanks Vikrant for the prompt response .Actually my App is authorized and published . Still Data set is returning nothing. The case is same like yours. No errors/exceptions in logs.

Your FB app should be reviewed, approved and live by FB. Post that follow the steps from Page 158 in the below document

Hi Aravind, To get the app live with manage_pages permission did you have to get the app and your business page verified?

Hi Priyanka,
You can take the Token from two places. In Pega after you authorization it will be under SampleFBDefinition rule. From Facebook developer app add the messenger or webhooks method and select your page. It will display the Token.
May I know in which version you are working and are you building on top of customer service ?

Thanks for your reply. I am doing it in pega 7.4. For the time being I am only trying to fetch data through running the data set stand alone and to check the values in the clipboard. You suggested to add messenger/webhook methods in my FB app. How can I do it?
