Error when adding Controls to Windows Form in Pega Robotics Studio
Hi I just started working with Robotic Studio and doing the course. When I add controls to a Windows Form I get the error 'Could not get reference to OpenSpan.Dynamicmembers.Extentions.IExtentionTypeService'. I added a snip of the error.
I cannot find any information on this error and how to get rid of it.
Can someone please help me?

I am seeing this problem when I create a new, empty project and add a Windows Form as my first item in the project. Then I add a control to the form. Does this behavior happen in every scenario? or is there something specific that you are doing to recreate it?
I was able to get rid of the error by adding an Automation Item to my project.

I've never seen this error before. I suggest that you open an SR with support as it appears you need someone who can look at your machine. If you do open an SR, please post the SR number here for tracking purposes.

What version of .Net is installed on your machine? Have you always experienced this issue since installing OpenSpan?

I'm seeing the same error as well.
Attached are the error and the list of Microsoft's VS related software installed.
This is what i did so far: Uninstall all Microsoft's software from my pc, ran the OpenSpanStudioVS2015Setup as an admin. Installed just what the OpenSpan installer installs.
"OpenSpan.Dynamicmembers.Extentions.IExtentionTypeService" doesnt exists neither anywhere in my system nor in the extracted "OpenSpanStudioVS2015Setup1.cab" file

Hi, I have exactly the same behavior in 2 different environments.
First env is Windows 10 physical installation.
Second is Windows 7 in parallels on Mac.
Whenever I drag'n'drop any Windows Form objects into a Windows form I see the error.
I have reinstalled, removed old .NET aso, nothing helped.
Regards,
Andreas

That really does the trick! Although I am getting the same error message when adding the automation item to the project, the error does no longer occur for Windows form objects.
Thanks Vegam. You saved my day ;)

Excuse me but, how do I add an automation item? I'm also getting this error and it's super annoying.
Thanks.

Right-click the project in the solution explorer choose "Add", from the sub menu select "New Automation..."
Hope that helps

Surprisingly, adding an Automation item suppressed the error message.

Which build number are you working with?

I see the issue with Version 14.0.25420.1 (8.0.1053.0). But I tried two different downloads. One is the product that was shipped through the software request and the other one came from the Robotics Architect Training currently available. Both installations behave the same even on different environments and different Windows versions. Could a Microsoft hotfix cause this issue?
