Encrypting embedded properties

I need to encrypt an embedded property say .page1.prop1.

I have created 2 different PropEncrypt type of Access Control Policy one with .prop1 and the other with .page1.prop1 as per the recommendation in the Pega help.

The encryption is all working fine. However when I view the value in a report definition (this is exposed as a column in the DB) I am not able to see the decrypted value. I can only see the encrypted value.

As per help if there is no masking applied on an encrypted property using PropRead ACP, the value of the property should be automatically decrypted and visible on ui and/or report definition. And this work fine if the property is on the top level (say pyWorkPage). But if it is an embedded property the automatic decryption is not working in report definition but it is working in UI.

Is this a known issue? Can this be fixed somehow? I am on version 8.6
