DSS to remove Exception Stack Trace

Hi, 

Whenever there is expection, we get stack trace details. 

prconfig/initialization/DisplayExceptionTraceback/default  -- this is the DSS to remove the stack trace. 

 

But this is not working in lower stage like DEV.  Be it true or false, i see the full stack trace details for any exception. 

Can someone confirm if this works for Pega 8.1 and can this be tested in lower stage like Dev or QA box.
