Dropdown click event
Hi,
Does The click event in a dropdown work?
I need to refresh the list source of my dropdown when the user click the dropdown, change event is not useful for this, I need to do it with click event.
I tried adding a action set with click event and it doesn´t work, looks like the click event would'n do anything.
Do Click event and Change event do the same thing in dropdown?
Change event works but I need work with Click event because List source can be updated with new values from the datapage.

@JohnO7952Is your datapage parameterized? maybe that could explain why it is being refreshed onchange and nothing happens onclick.
There should not be difference between onchange and onclick events as they will be handled with the same javascript function.
Try flushing your datapage before the section gets refreshed.
As a side note. I don't think that refreshing the section gives a good user experience because the user will lose focus of the dropdown.

@JohnO7952 Try to use Thread level D page and configure the Refresh strategy as Reload once per interaction(Select the check box).

To refresh a dropdown using any of the standard Pega refresh mechanisms would require you to refresh the section, if this happens the user will lose focus on the dropdown and need to click it again.
Having just tested it, it does appear that click actions on drop downs are completely disabled.
But here are some other options to ensure that the dorp down is as up to date as possible when the user interacts with it:
1. There is a Load Behaviour setting on the Drop Down config (it's on General tab at the bottom). Option "On user hover" will load the list once a user hovers over the drop down, it will get the latest data from the data page once this happens (according to the refresh strategy of the data page). However this will only work once, if they hover by accident while performing the rest of the form the data won't refresh again.
2. Separate out your drop down into it's own assignment within the case process (or separate screen if you are not building a case UI). Once users submit everything else, then load the assignment with only the drop down to ensure it does not have stale data and that the user selects immediately.
There are other options with refreshing the section based on events in the page but in my opinion the above would be the least annoying for the end user.

If none of the above are viable for you, then you could consider writing some custom javascript to handle the refresh ad-hoc at the required time, but you'd need the time and skills in your team to build this.
