Docker support for Windows and JBoss

Hello Pega,

We run an application being served by several servers/Pega instances and want to utilise Docker to simplify deployments and setup of e.g. test systems

Our Systems stack is:

Windows Server 2012R2, SQL Server 2012, JBoss 6.4.9, Java 8

We are looking at upgrading to SQL Server 2016, JBoss 7. To have docker functionality we might consider change to Linux iso Windows Server since there is no support of Pega for Windows Server 2016. What is your take on this? Needed or not?

What are the Pega recommendations here? Is there any difference between Windows platforms and Linux in respect to running dockers and especially any recommendations around our system stack?

The base image functionality is built on Apache Tomcat 7 with OpenJDK JRE 7. You can extend the base image to include your proprietary copy of the Pega Platform web software and customizations. Building the executable image must be done on a Linux system.
