Do we have "Filter By" option in Report Definition rule, like we have in ListView?
We can find this in Organize tab of listview. This is basically a when rule which applies a filter on the Resultset returned from the criteria met on Content tab.

Just to understand, what is the need to apply a filter on the returned results (post filtering) rather than mentioning it as a filter in the report definition rule itself?

We have to filter cases with a particular status of work object depending on key words entered. Example, if the user enters status as "Open" we have to show work items related to all Open statuses like "New**","Inprocess**" , "Pending**" etc. So we have to capture them in a value list based on the key word entered and pass the value list to report definition using "StartsWith".
Instead we want to handle it in filter when rule.

Isn't that incorrect? What if you get only the top 10 records and after post filtering you end up no records?
Rather passing the valueList of statuses in the RHS or even creating a comma separated list and passing it as parameter in the RHS of the report definition is better.

I understood what you said. But there might me few scenarios where filtering after the results were fetched might suit. As we say Listview is deprecated, there might be some listviews which should be replaced by Report Definitions exactly the way they were coded before. So it would be helpful if someone let me know whether this option is completely removed from Report Definition. If not removed, help me understand how to achieve that.

Hi Sujatha,
As far as I know, this is not available in Report Definition. This would need to be done a wrapper activity that calls pxRetrieveReportData activity which executes the report definition.
