Date RUTA

I am trying to modify the OOTB pyDate RUTA script to detect the following date pattern:

20xx followed by either x or xx or xxx or xxxx. This will support date formats where someone doesn't put the full date. Example 20190409 is the same as 201949 also 2019049 and also 2019409.

I have had no luck and I am stuck. Looking for help from any RUTA experts out there.

Hi,

Would this logic work for dates other than mentioned date pattern? Say, 20191201? 

If this was considered as 2019121, would it be 1st December or 21st January?
