Data Trasform - Functionality

In the Candidate case type, add a default entry to the list in the pySetFieldDefaults data transform.
This ensures that the list contains an empty entry when the screen is displayed.

Tip: Initialize an element in the first item in the list (for example, .Interviews(1).Location = "") to add a
default entry.

Can someone explain me why do we perform the above operation

I am not sure this is part of any excercise material or something, but just by this issue description, it is difficult to answer your query.

The max I can tell that, pySetFieldDefaults is utilized in form configuration for fields that are generated for a case type. This is used as a placeholder so that a version can be overridden in a users' application ruleset without validation preventing the user from doing so.
