Data flow save option to UPDATE ONLY

Found a work around to add a merge shape right before the destination shape and have it sourced with the same data set as the destination. For testing purposes, I used only one record and it work, however when i tried to test 100 records, the Data Flow was not processing / moving at all for more than 15 minutes, which doesnt seem a good sign. Source also have around 2000+ records.  Can you share if you got any work around for this that's efficient?
