Data encryption in Pega pods

We are on the way to setup new Pega environment with Pega 8.6 on AKS and looking for the details on - Does the pods with in the AKS communicate to each other? If yes, is the traffic encrypted? If the traffic is encrypted, what kind of encryption it provide ?
