Custom UI component using JavaScript

What are the pros and Cons of using Custom UI component using javascript over Pega UI configuration.

Hello,

I think it will be mainly cons.

In the old good times Pega wasn't having auto generated UI element. All the work was done with native HTML and JavaScript. So you end up with extremely large pages of code impossible to maintain and to modify if a new business requirement comes up.

So in theory you could work with custom HTML and JavaScript and create incredible UI especially if you are a JavaScript master. But keep in mind, it won't be build for change and extremely difficult to maintain.
