Cosmos System Portals Browser Back Button
We are currently upgrading our application to pega 8.4.2 with cosmos design system.
One thing we notice that if user opens a WO from search results screen there is no way to go back to search screens with results and criteria retained on it.
Since cosmos or pega 8 supports browser back buttons we tried that approach and here is our observation:
- Click on Search on left menu
- Search by providing some criteria
- Click and open a search result
- once the result is opened
- Hit browser back button which takes us back to search screen but neither criteria nor results are retained.
Previously in pega 7 there was a close action which was OOTB which will close the WO and take users back to previous screen as is if it was search results and criteria was retained. Now in cosmos that same action takes us to portal home screen instead of going back to previous screen.
So we are looking for solutions on how to address this issue as it's a major business concern for our application users

@HimanshuM1223 in Theme-Cosmos:01-01, the search string and the search criteria are stored in a requestor level DP called D_pyWorkSearchPreferences - the values are preserved when navigating back to the search page.
You should be able to drill down into a case from the search page by clicking on the link, then use the browser back button to come back to the search page where all the filters and search query should still be maintained. I would double check that something has not been overriden in your app layer
