Changing Cell height in a repeating grid.
The default height of a cell in repeating grid cannot be changed. Does anybody know how to do it? P.S. : I cannot use a custom skin style.

Hi Anuj,
In general based on the content, the height of the cell will be calculated dynamically. Please share why you want to enforce the height ?
I don't know the solution without using custom styles. If you want the solution using custom styles I can share the same.

I have attached the snapshot of my repeating grid.I find a lot of space above and below the content in the cloumns. This space is not my requirement and needs to be removed. Please share a solution which does not include using custom styles in skins. I am aware of the custom style approach.

Hello Anuj,
Can you please try the use case after enabling wrap text checkbox? Also, are you using text area to display the content ??

Hello Anuj,
Can you please share the grid configuration details if possible with screenshots?
Also, try removing the radio button and check the space ? As Ajit suggested try inspecting the element through developer tools which will give more information on which elemnt/style is causing the white space.

Hi Anuj,
Can you try changing the height of the entire row by clicking on the dot symbol of that particular row, open properties and set height and let us know.
Also can you confirm rest of the columns properties ?

Tried changing the height by selecting the entire row. Doesn't work. All the properties used are of type text and the control used is text input, except in the last coloumn where the control used is radiobuttons.

Hi Anuj,
Do you have word wrap on any of the columns? If so remove for all and then set height.
Confirm the layout in the presentation tab. May be please provide screen shot.

Hi Anuj,
Can you replicate the same on UI gallery's repeat grid with your contents and then check?

Could you use browser developer tool and try to identify which HTML component is taking this extra space? Also share the CSS styles being applied on the concerned element.

hi ,
either one of the element in the grid must be a section include or one element must be occupying the entire height .
try removing one by one element and check, the culprit element can be found .
OR click on Live UI and check the Grid which element occupies the entire grid .
remove that element or change the control of it to text input and presentation read only
Let us know if it works

Hi All. Looks like we have similar issue and the property that we try to display is in Rich Text format (see attached doc). As far as we can see the height of the cell is consistent despite the text size and it causes the extra white space below and above the text. Is it OOB issue for Rich Text? How we can adjusted and make it dynamic?
Thanks,
Larisa

I just found out that the control "Rich text editor" out-of-the box has been set to Height "Auto", maybe if it will be "Size to Content" it will allow the Height to be dynamic? If so, how to change it as all the involved rules are final (pz). Please advise.
Thanks

Hi Larisa
Could you try some of the suggestions offered in the previous post's comments?
Check in the UI gallery to see if you face the same issue there.

I tried with UI Gallery and got the same result, too much empty space. When I switch from Rich Text to either Text Area or Formatted text, it appears fine, However there is an option for user to modify the text on Modal window and the edited field there is in Rich Text format, so when it comes back, the HTML tags are attached to the updated text. This is why the field is in Rich Text format from the beginning, and it looks like the default cell size is 220 and can't be changed. Please advise.
Thanks,
Larisa

Hi Larisa,
Normally I have not seen usecases with RTE in a grid. However you can have options to show in modal dialog the content on click of a link or button

Hi Charles. We do have local action to update the text and text there appears in Rich Text format for the following reason.
As I explained previously, if we will use just text format in main section, the section appears in manageable size, however the HTML tags of the updated text in Local Action section will appear. To prevent that, we need to display the text in Rich Format in main section too. If there is a way to prevent the tags to appear, we can solve the problem. Please advise.
Thanks,
Larisa

Hi Bhuvana,
We have the same issue. A repeating grid with and included section that contains "default" controls used for text properties. The row shows a fixed height of 92 [pixels] and the included section cell also shows a fixed height of 92 pixels. I've tried changing the values for the height and they keep resetting themselves. Yesterday they were set to 184 pixels. I tried changing them to 30 each and they saved as 92 each (which is plenty!). Today when I attempt to change them, they jump up to 122 pixels!
Can't I set these values somehow?!? Why do they keep resetting themselves?
Any and all suggestions are appreciated. BTW, we're using Pega 7.2.2.
Thanks,
Kirk
