Cannot enable full-text search for node
Hello,
I am see the below error in my log file related to full-text search, why Search index host nodes are not reachable, what we have to do to make them reachable
2016-08-11 19:45:02,743 [il INITIALIZE_SEARCH] [ STANDARD] [ ] [ ] (.internal.PRSearchProviderImpl) ERROR - Cannot enable full-text search for node BE7AF3ED43A0FCA7755180420107BBF2. Possible cause: None of the search index host nodes are reachable.
2016-08-11 19:45:32,748 [il INITIALIZE_SEARCH] [ STANDARD] [ ] [ ] (artup.SearchInitializationTask) ERROR - Finished configuration of node for full-text search, with errors.

I believe you are using 7x version.
Pega 7 Platform incorporates a full-text search feature based on Elasticsearch. Depending on settings, developers can search for rules, data instances and work items, and application users can search for work items.
By default, the full-text search facility is enabled for rules, and is accessed by the Designer Studio search facility in the header bar.

By default, the full-text search facility is enabled for rules, and is accessed by the Designer Studio search facility in the header bar.
This facility uses index files to provide full-text searching. Through settings in the Search landing page tab, you can enable or disable this facility and determine the directory where index files are stored. Indexes are updated in the background periodically, during the system pulse performed by the Pega-RULES agent — typically once a minute.
When you update settings on the Search landing page tab, scroll to the bottom of the display to locate and click the Submit button. Your settings do not take effect until you submit your changes.
And if you are using lower version, then we need to update some DSS settings, which you will find in the below PDN link:

To add to what @Abhishek has mentioned above, if you are getting none of the search nodes are reachable it could be because of the following reasons
1) There is no node configured on the search landing page (Designer Studio -> System -> Settings -> Search) in the index host node section
2) There are one or more nodes configured but they are currently not up and running
3) There are one or more nodes configured but the current node is unable to communicate with the configured nodes over TCP port range 9300 ~ 9399

After adding few new jvms, we are getting the below exception while starting up the jvms and search funtionality is failing..
ERROR - Failed to initialize full text search functionality for this node.
com.pega.pegarules.search.internal.es.FTSInitializationException: Failed to initialize full text search for this node.
Caused by:
java.net.BindException: The socket name is not available on this system.
