Can we send a generic control as a parameter to automation?

Can we send a generic control instead of specific control class as a parameter to an automation?

I am actually planning to use the properties and attributes of any control to perform some common operations in a reusable automation?

Controls are based on a System.Object and you could send any type of control to an automation as an object. The problem you will have in your automation is to have access to the properties and methods you will need to convert the object into the actual type. That is a little tougher and is usually the reason why it is not done this way.
