Can we add aditional metadata to file while attaching from mobile

We have a requirement to add additional metadata to a file. We are using "SetAttachmentProperties" activity to set additional metadata on the file. However we are unable to figure out how to implement the same when uploading a file in mobile/windows desktop app in online/offline scenarios. In these scenarios "AttachContent" control is used to upload a file. However as its and OOT control we could not find any way to extend it.

Really appreciate any help on this!
