can we achieve parallel processing using sub-process shape run "on embedded page" with "spinoff" selected?

Hi my question is purely for academic / learning purpose 

I have seen many posts about split for each and split join linked to topic of parallel processing

but i also see that spin-off option available on sub-process shape which can run on embedded page , can we use it to start parallel instances flows runs ( or second instance flow starts only after first instance of the flow gets completed? )
