Can free text search provide the result based on last updated date?

We are trying to fetch the results from free text search based on last updated date. The current behavior is free text search will return the result from top indices which match the search text, I could not figure out how free text search index the results internally. Sorting changes on last updated date column done in report definition pyWorkSearch do not have any impact.

In activity pySearchWrapper, results are getting sorted based on update date time and label. I think you might need to change there for sorting.
