Can an AES monitor it's own PRPC instance?

Hi,

AES is utilised to monitor other PRPC instances. However can an AES server (7.1.7) monitor the PRPC instance that it uses for itself? On page 2 of the Autonomic Event Services (AES) Enterprise Edition - Monitored Node Configuration Guide the diagram seems to imply not but I'd like to hear about if this can actually be done.
