Cache algorithms and Pega

In the lesson on caches, pruning and draining, it states that MRU is used for pruning to remove old items. Somehow this suggested LRU and not MRU.

What is it, MRU or LRU?

If MRU is used it should state last added items is removed as this is what MRU means.

MRU is the way the rule cache is managed. LRU are the oldest rules and get pruned first.

Thank you for your reply Bill, 

Having this exerpt from the Web content och Pega caches, I Think the 4th lesson: 

  • Pruning is triggered when the instancecountlimit is reached. The system uses the Most Recently Used (MRU) algorithm to delete the old ones to make room for the new ones. 

Reading this on Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cache_replacement_policies I woulde presume the word "the old ones" in the statement above is wrong. On top if that there is the draining but I can live with that explanation
