What are the benefits of using Report Definition against writing Connect SQL

Hi Nishant,
- In Connect SQL you have to write the SQL directly and it is harder to maintain if you want to switch to another DB.
- If you use RD you don't write any of the SQL, it's generated for you, and it's easier to maintain and move to another DB.
This is the main benefit of RD over Connect-SQL functionality. Hope this might be helpful to you.

Hi Nishant,
Please find the requested benefits as follows:
- A Report Definition is better because it will work on any database platform, in any environment.
- We strongly encourage the use of the Report Definitions over Connect-SQL unless it's just not possible.
- Not sure if there is a big performance difference either way.

Additionally:
1. Report Definitions can be used as inputs for Data Pages
2. Report Definitions can be created and maintained by end-users; rather than Administrators.
