The benefit of having PegaRULES and UIKit applications as sibling

Hi,

Prior to current Pega 7.2, Pega did not provide the capability of having an application built on multiple applications. One application could stand on top of only one application. Below screenshot is for Pega 7.2.2, having PegaRULES and UIKit on MyApp application which was structured by New Application automatically. My question is why Pega stopped MyApp > UIKit > PegaRULES. What is the benefit? If I refactor as such do I get any disadvantage? I think a single hierarchy is more simple.
