Recently I have experienced no results found when using "Search using data page parameter":

I have configured my autocomplete list source as follows:

The configuration on the left (1) does not work, however the one on the right (2) works. The only difference between the two is that I'm using "Search using data page parameter" in the first one.

One thing I noticed is that I have a similar autocomplete in my base application layer and it works when using Search using data page parameter (autocomplete and data type, both reside on the same application layer). In the scenario described above, my autocomplete is trying to fetch data from a data type defined in an application layer below (autocomplete and data type reside on different application layers). 

Although, the workaround presented above (2) works, I wish I could use option to "Search using data page parameter" because we are working with large data sets.
