Auto highlight or place cursor in search field

Auto display or highlight or place a cursor in search field, on each new visit to the page(including refresh)..I achieved it and it's working on chrome & IE, but it's not working in Mozilla fire fox.Am I facing any browser compatibility issues.?

This seems to be a problem with the Firefox browser. I tried to check and found the below articles.
