Action on Layout Expand/Collapse
Hi,
I need to unhide a link when my layout is expanded and hide it when i collapse it. My layout is set to Collapsible header type and expanded onload.
Can anyone help me in setting an action over the exapand/collapse icon?

You could achieve your business requirement with steps:
I am not sure about configuring an action set on expand/collapse icon.
- Create a flag property and assigned it a default value when the section is loaded.
- Configure above-created property in a "When" rule to hide/unhide the link.
- Have an action set "Run Activity/Run Data Transform" to update the value "OnClick" of the icon such that "When" condition hide/unhide the link/desired portion in the UI.
Hope it gives you the high-level idea. Kindly notify for larger Pega audience.

Hi Asif,
Thank you for the quick response. I can do this way but the problem here is : Onclick event i will need to configure on the layout actionset. Which means click on anywhere in the layout, the activity/DT is triggered and the value is set. But that should not happen for me. Only on collapse/expand, i should have that activity/DT triggered and flag set.
I am using PEGA 7.1.8 just fyi..
Hope i understood your suggestion in right way. Correct me if i am missing anything here.

Hi There,
You may need to add an onclick event listener on the class of the label.
Then when the particular label is clicked, the function is called where you need to hide/display the link.

I have a similar business requirement. Is there any solution other than javascript? Is there a property in the background that tells the status (expanded/collapsed)?

Agreed. Knowing the status of a collapsible header is a logical need. I think this goes hand in hand with tying actions directly to the header itself.
I'm currently attempting to nest inputs in collapsible layouts and want to expand them when they contain errors while otherwise respecting their current status. Ideally, I would say something along the lines of `expand when: hasMessages || isExpanded` which is nearly possible if I could reliably get/set that status.
